Maximilian Götz, Markus Pommer, Indy Dontje and Maximilian Buhk with their two yellow-green Mercedes-AMG GT3s have made a strong appearance in the highly competitive ADAC GT Masters 2018, bringing the team championship home fair and square. As the icing on the cake, the MANN-FILTER Mamba # 48 crew (Dontje/Buhk) was once again able to enjoy the view from the podium at the end of a brilliant season with P3 overall and P2 in the junior classification.

Our summary of the seven events in 2018 is impressive: The “Mamba tamers” Maximilian Götz, Maximilian Buhk, Markus Pommer and Indy Dontje made it into the top five no less than 12 times in the 14 classification races, were twice on the pole position of the fastest in the training, conquered six podium positions and won two races.

In the end it was a “did not finish” after an unfortunate collision in the first corner 11 seconds after the start of the crucial last race of the season that robbed Götz/Pommer of all chances of winning the title in the drivers’ standings. At the end it was the fourth place in the overall standings of the ADAC GT Masters 2018, directly followed by the team mates Buhk/Dontje on rank 5 in the drivers’ standings. With P3 in the last race, Dontje also finished third in the overall junior classification of the ADAC GT Masters 2018.

We are particularly happy about winning the team classification, as the ADAC GT Masters sets standards not only in terms of the size and diversity of the field, but also in terms of power density. In the first qualifying session at the Nürburgring, for example, no less than 31 of the spectacular GT3 cars of all eight participating brands were in a single second! “In this balanced field, only those who deliver perfect work over an entire season will be succesful. That’s why winning the team championship makes me so proud, because it’s proof of the enormous commitment and efficiency of the entire team,” says HTP team boss Norbert Brückner.

But even apart from the results, the ADAC GT Masters 2018 was a real highlight for the entire MANN-FILTER Team HTP. We are incredibly proud of the fact that so many people have grown to love our MANN-FILTER Mambas as much as we do. At every race we were especially looking forward to YOU - our great yellow-green fans. It was an honour for us to get to know you, to give you our yellow-green fan articles, flags and caps, to take photos with you and of course to give you personal contact to our four drivers - for autographs, photos and small professional talks.

Jörg Engels, Director Brand Management Automotive Aftermarket at MANN+HUMMEL, draws an entirely positive picture of the ADAC GT Masters season 2018: “We have achieved our sporting goals as well as those off the race track. We have experienced all the emotions, highlights and setbacks that this great sport has to offer, and in the end we can draw up a proud balance. Our MANN-FILTER Mambas were not only a real eye-catcher, but were also among the fastest cars in this impressive field of participants. In each race we fought for the top positions, which clearly speaks for the qualities of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and all participants in the MANN-FILTER Team HTP. In short: It was a great season of which we are very proud.”

In the end there is only one thing left to say: THANK YOU.
